Abstract
This thesis investigates the implementation of sustainable agricultural practices in rural communities for economic development. The study focuses on the importance of adopting sustainable agricultural practices to enhance economic growth and improve the livelihoods of rural communities. The research is motivated by the need to address the challenges faced by rural communities in achieving sustainable development through agriculture. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative research methods to gather comprehensive data on the topic. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, presenting background information on the significance of sustainable agriculture in rural development. The chapter also outlines the problem statement, research objectives, limitations, scope, significance of the study, and the structure of the thesis. Furthermore, the chapter defines key terms and concepts related to sustainable agriculture and rural development. Chapter Two consists of a comprehensive literature review that explores existing studies, theories, and models related to sustainable agricultural practices and their impact on economic development in rural communities. The literature review covers ten key themes, including the benefits of sustainable agriculture, challenges faced by rural communities, best practices in sustainable agriculture, and the role of government policies in promoting sustainable development.
