This thesis examines the profound impact of colonialism on the cultural identity of indigenous peoples, with a specific focus on Nigeria as a case study. The research delves into the historical context of colonial rule in Nigeria and its lasting effects on the cultural heritage and identity of indigenous communities. Through a comprehensive analysis of primary and secondary sources, this study explores the ways in which colonial policies, practices, and ideologies have shaped and influenced the cultural identity of indigenous peoples in Nigeria. The introduction provides an overview of the research topic, highlighting the significance of studying the impact of colonialism on cultural identity.
