Colonialism has had profound and lasting effects on the cultures and societies of Africa. This thesis examines the impact of colonial rule on indigenous cultures in British and French colonies in Africa, with a specific focus on the ways in which British and French colonial policies and practices influenced cultural identities, social structures, and traditions of the indigenous populations. Through a comparative analysis, this study seeks to shed light on the similarities and differences in the colonial experiences of these two European powers and their effects on the cultural landscape of Africa. Chapter One provides an introduction to the topic, presenting the background of the study and the problem statement.
