Abstract
This research study aims to investigate the effects of the qualification of physical education teachers on the performance of secondary school students in external examinations, with a focus on selected schools in Nsukka Local Government Area. The study seeks to explore the relationship between the qualifications of physical education teachers and the academic achievement of students in secondary schools, particularly in the context of external examinations. The research will employ a case study approach, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative methods to gather data. The research will involve selecting a sample of secondary schools within Nsukka Local Government Area, with a specific focus on the qualifications of the physical education teachers in each school. Data will be collected on the qualifications of the teachers, including their educational background, certifications, and experience in teaching physical education. Additionally, data will be collected on the performance of students in external examinations, such as the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and the National Examinations Council (NECO) examinations. Quantitative data will be collected through surveys and academic records analysis to measure the qualifications of physical education teachers and the academic performance of students.
