Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect is a well-documented phenomenon characterized by higher temperatures in urban areas compared to their rural surroundings. This study aims to analyze the UHI effect in a developing city through a comprehensive case study. The selected city represents a typical urban area experiencing rapid development and urbanization processes, making it a pertinent case for investigating the impact of urbanization on local climate and temperature patterns. The research begins with a detailed introduction outlining the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. A thorough literature review in Chapter Two explores existing research on UHI effects, urban climate dynamics, mitigation strategies, and the influence of various urban characteristics on temperature patterns. This chapter provides a solid foundation for understanding the context and significance of the study. Chapter Three focuses on the research methodology employed in this study.
