**Abstract
** Urban Heat Islands (UHIs) pose significant challenges in cities, particularly in developing regions, affecting the environment and human health. This study aims to investigate the causes, impacts, and mitigation strategies of UHIs in a developing city. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data analysis and qualitative assessments to provide a comprehensive understanding of UHIs. The study begins with an exploration of the background of UHIs, highlighting their growing prevalence in urban areas due to rapid urbanization and climate change. The problem statement identifies the adverse effects of UHIs on urban ecosystems, energy consumption, and public health. The objectives of the study include examining UHI formation mechanisms, assessing their impacts on the urban environment, and proposing effective mitigation strategies. The limitations of the study are acknowledged, such as constraints in data availability and potential challenges in implementing mitigation measures. The scope of the study focuses on a specific developing city, providing insights that can be applied to similar urban contexts.
