Abstract
This thesis investigates the impact of social media on mental health among young adults. The study aims to explore the relationship between social media usage and mental health outcomes, focusing on the psychological well-being of individuals in the young adult population. The research is motivated by the increasing prevalence of social media platforms and the growing concerns about their potential negative effects on mental health, particularly among young adults. Chapter One provides an introduction to the topic, including the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definitions of key terms. The chapter sets the stage for the research by highlighting the importance of understanding the implications of social media use on mental health. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review that examines existing studies on the relationship between social media and mental health.
