Abstract
The use of social media has significantly increased in recent years, with platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram becoming integral parts of daily life for many individuals. This study explores the impact of social media on mental health awareness and stigma reduction. The research aims to investigate how social media can be utilized as a tool to raise awareness about mental health issues and combat the stigma associated with mental illness. Chapter One provides an introduction to the topic, including the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review that examines existing research on the relationship between social media and mental health awareness. The review covers various aspects, including the role of social media in shaping perceptions of mental health, the effectiveness of social media campaigns in raising awareness, and the impact of social media on reducing stigma. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology employed in this study, detailing the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, and data analysis procedures. The chapter also discusses ethical considerations and limitations of the methodology. Chapter Four presents a detailed discussion of the findings from the study, analyzing the data collected and drawing conclusions about the impact of social media on mental health awareness and stigma reduction.
