This thesis explores the utilization of mixed media techniques in contemporary art installation, focusing on the innovative and diverse ways in which artists combine various materials and mediums to create immersive and impactful installations. The research delves into the background of mixed media art, examining its historical development and the evolution of techniques over time. Through a comprehensive literature review, this study investigates existing scholarship on mixed media art and its applications in the field of contemporary art installation. The primary objective of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of mixed media techniques in conveying complex narratives and engaging viewers on multiple sensory levels within the context of art installations. By identifying the unique characteristics and potentials of mixed media art, this study aims to provide insights into how artists can push the boundaries of traditional art practices and create compelling installations that challenge perceptions and provoke thought. The methodology employed in this research involves a combination of qualitative analyses of contemporary art installations utilizing mixed media techniques, as well as interviews with artists and curators working in this field. Through observations and critical assessments of selected artworks, this study aims to identify patterns, trends, and innovative approaches in the use of mixed media within art installations.
