Abstract
This thesis focuses on assessing the effectiveness of sustainable urban planning strategies in reducing carbon emissions in urban areas. The rapid urbanization and population growth in cities have led to increased carbon emissions, contributing significantly to climate change. Sustainable urban planning plays a crucial role in mitigating these emissions and fostering environmentally friendly urban development. This study aims to evaluate various sustainable urban planning strategies and their impact on reducing carbon emissions in urban areas. The research methodology involves a comprehensive literature review to explore existing knowledge on sustainable urban planning, carbon emissions reduction strategies, and their implementation in urban environments. Data collection methods include surveys, interviews, and case studies to gather insights from urban planners, policymakers, and residents involved in sustainable urban planning initiatives. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the research topic, background information, problem statement, objectives of the study, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definitions of key terms. Chapter 2 presents a detailed literature review covering ten key areas related to sustainable urban planning strategies and their impact on carbon emissions reduction. Chapter 3 outlines the research methodology, including research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, data analysis procedures, and ethical considerations. Eight sub-sections provide a comprehensive overview of the research process and methodology employed in this study.
