Wetlands are critical ecosystems that play a vital role in biodiversity conservation and climate change mitigation. However, these fragile habitats are increasingly threatened by human activities and environmental degradation. This thesis aims to assess the effectiveness of wetland restoration in achieving biodiversity conservation and climate change mitigation objectives. The study focuses on evaluating the outcomes of wetland restoration projects, analyzing the factors influencing restoration success, and identifying best practices for enhancing restoration effectiveness. The research methodology includes a comprehensive literature review to examine existing knowledge on wetland restoration, biodiversity conservation, and climate change mitigation strategies. Primary data collection involves field surveys, interviews with stakeholders, and monitoring of restored wetland sites to assess biodiversity status and carbon sequestration potential. The study also utilizes remote sensing and GIS techniques to analyze changes in wetland extent and vegetation cover over time.
