Abstract
Habitat loss and fragmentation pose major threats to biodiversity as human development expands into natural areas. One strategy to mitigate these impacts is the establishment of wildlife corridors, which are tracts of habitat that connect larger patches of core habitat. This project aims to research existing wildlife corridor projects and propose recommendations for creating new corridors within a specific region. The objectives are to identify areas of high habitat fragmentation, evaluate which animal species would benefit most from increased connectivity, and recommend priority locations and designs for wildlife corridors. Through landscape analysis and stakeholder engagement, this project seeks to advance biodiversity conservation and promote ecological resilience in the face of ongoing land use and climate change.
