This thesis explores the profound impact of postcolonial literature on shaping contemporary identity politics. Postcolonial literature, emerging as a response to the historical legacies of colonialism and imperialism, has played a crucial role in challenging dominant narratives and redefining identities in the aftermath of colonization. Through a comprehensive analysis of key postcolonial texts and critical theories, this study aims to investigate how postcolonial literature has influenced and shaped the discourse surrounding identity politics in the modern world. The research begins with an examination of the historical and theoretical background of postcolonial literature, tracing its development and significance in challenging hegemonic structures and power dynamics. By delving into the complexities of postcolonial identities, the study highlights the ways in which literature has been instrumental in articulating the experiences of marginalized communities and subverting dominant narratives of identity.
