This thesis investigates the representation of mental health in contemporary literature. The study delves into a range of contemporary literary works that address mental health themes, examining how authors navigate the portrayal of characters grappling with various mental health conditions. Through a detailed analysis of the selected texts, this research aims to shed light on the nuanced ways in which mental health is depicted in literature and the impact of these representations on readers and wider societal attitudes towards mental illness. The introduction sets the stage for the study by providing an overview of the importance of exploring mental health in literature and outlining the research objectives.
