Abstract
This research project aims to investigate the impact of social media on mental health among teenagers. The use of social media has become increasingly prevalent among adolescents, with platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter playing a significant role in their daily lives. While social media offers numerous benefits, including the ability to connect with peers, share experiences, and access information, concerns have been raised about its potential negative effects on mental well-being. The study will explore how various aspects of social media use, such as the amount of time spent online, the types of content consumed, and the interactions with others, may influence mental health outcomes in teenagers. Factors such as cyberbullying, fear of missing out (FOMO), and social comparison are also important considerations in understanding the relationship between social media and mental health. Through a combination of surveys, interviews, and data analysis, the research will assess the prevalence of mental health issues among teenagers and examine the correlations with their social media habits.
