This research project investigates the impact of social media on mental health among teenagers. Social media has become an integral part of daily life, especially for the younger generation. While it offers various benefits such as connectivity and information sharing, there is growing concern about its negative effects on mental well-being. The study aims to explore the relationship between social media usage and mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and self-esteem issues among teenagers. A mixed-methods approach will be employed, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather comprehensive data. The survey will assess the frequency and duration of social media use, types of platforms used, and self-reported mental health indicators. The qualitative interviews will provide deeper insights into the subjective experiences of teenagers regarding social media and its impact on their mental health. The research will focus on a sample group of teenagers aged 13-18 from diverse socio-economic backgrounds to ensure a broad perspective.
