Abstract
This research project explores the impact of social media on mental health among teenagers. The study aims to investigate how the use of social media platforms such as Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook influences the mental well-being of adolescents. A mixed-methods approach will be employed, combining quantitative surveys to gather data on social media usage patterns and mental health indicators, as well as qualitative interviews to gain deeper insights into the subjective experiences of teenagers in relation to social media. The research will focus on aspects such as self-esteem, body image, cyberbullying, and overall psychological well-being. By examining both the positive and negative effects of social media on mental health, this study seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of the complex relationship between social media use and adolescent well-being. The findings from this research could have implications for mental health interventions targeted at teenagers and contribute to the development of guidelines for promoting healthy social media usage among adolescents.
