Abstract
The rising cost of higher education has led to an increase in student loan debt among college students, highlighting the importance of financial literacy education. This study explores the impact of financial literacy education on student loan debt management in college students. The research is guided by the following objectives to examine the current state of financial literacy education among college students, to analyze the factors influencing student loan debt accumulation, and to assess the effectiveness of financial literacy education programs in improving student loan debt management skills. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the study, outlining the background of the research, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definitions of key terms. Chapter 2 presents a comprehensive literature review, covering ten key areas related to financial literacy education, student loan debt management, and the impact of financial education on financial behavior. Chapter 3 details the research methodology, including research design, sampling techniques, data collection methods, and data analysis procedures. The chapter also discusses ethical considerations, validity, and reliability of the research findings. Chapter 4 presents the findings of the study, analyzing the impact of financial literacy education on student loan debt management based on the data collected from college students. The discussion of findings in Chapter 4 explores the effectiveness of financial literacy education programs in improving student loan debt management skills, as well as the challenges and barriers faced by students in managing their loan debt. The chapter also examines the role of financial institutions and policymakers in promoting financial literacy among college students. Chapter 5 concludes the thesis by summarizing the key findings, discussing the implications for practice and policy, and providing recommendations for future research.
