This research project focuses on analyzing the impact of social media on mental health among teenagers. With the increasing popularity and widespread use of social media platforms among adolescents, concerns have been raised regarding the potential negative effects on their mental well-being. The study aims to explore the relationship between social media usage patterns, such as frequency and duration of use, and various mental health outcomes, including anxiety, depression, and self-esteem. A mixed-methods approach will be employed to gather data, combining quantitative surveys to assess social media usage and mental health indicators, as well as qualitative interviews to delve deeper into the subjective experiences of teenagers. The research will target a diverse sample of adolescents aged 13-18 years to capture a wide range of perspectives and experiences. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to a better understanding of how social media impacts the mental health of teenagers and provide valuable insights for parents, educators, and mental health professionals. By identifying potential risk factors and protective factors associated with social media use, interventions and strategies can be developed to promote positive mental health outcomes in this vulnerable population. Overall, this research project seeks to bridge the gap in current literature by providing empirical evidence on the complex relationship between social media and mental health in teenagers. The results will not only inform academic discussions on the topic but also have practical implications for stakeholders involved in supporting the well-being of adolescents in the digital age. By shedding light on both the positive and negative aspects of social media use, this study aims to contribute to the development of targeted interventions that can mitigate the adverse effects and enhance the positive impact of social media on teenage mental health.
