Abstract
Toys play a significant role in the cognitive development of pre-school children. This research project aims to assess the influence of toys on the cognitive functions of children aged 3 to 5 years old. The study will focus on how different types of toys, such as educational toys, pretend play toys, puzzles, and building blocks, impact cognitive skills like problem-solving, creativity, memory, and spatial awareness. The research will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data analysis with qualitative observations. A sample of pre-school children will be selected from different socio-economic backgrounds to ensure diversity in the study population. The participants will engage in various play sessions with different types of toys, and their cognitive performance will be evaluated using standardized assessments and observational methods. The findings of this study are expected to provide valuable insights into the specific ways in which toys influence cognitive development in pre-school children. By understanding the impact of different types of toys on cognitive functions, educators, parents, and caregivers can make informed decisions when choosing toys for children. This research has the potential to contribute to the development of more effective educational strategies and toy selection guidelines for enhancing cognitive skills in young children. Overall, this research project seeks to bridge the gap in existing literature regarding the influence of toys on cognitive function in pre-school children. By exploring the relationship between toys and cognitive development, this study aims to provide evidence-based recommendations for promoting optimal cognitive growth in young children through play.
