This thesis investigates the impact of co-operative enterprises on economic development in rural communities. The study employs a mixed-methods research approach, combining qualitative and quantitative data to provide a holistic analysis of the subject matter. Chapter One of the thesis provides an introduction to the research topic, outlining the background, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure, and definition of terms. Chapter Two presents a detailed literature review consisting of ten key items that explore the role of co-operative enterprises in rural economic development. The review examines existing studies, theories, and models to establish a foundation for the research. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology, including the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, and data analysis procedures.
