Abstract
This thesis examines the impact of co-operative business models on economic development in rural communities. The study seeks to understand how co-operatives contribute to the economic growth and sustainability of rural areas by fostering collective ownership, decision-making, and resource-sharing among community members. Through a comprehensive literature review, this research explores the theoretical foundations of co-operative economics and management, highlighting the key principles, benefits, challenges, and success factors associated with co-operative enterprises. The methodology chapter outlines the research design, data collection methods, and analysis techniques employed to investigate the role of co-operatives in promoting economic development in rural communities.
