Thesis Abstract

<p> This research project seeks to explore the use of citizen science projects as a pedagogical tool in teaching environmental chemistry. Citizen science initiatives involve public participation in scientific research, offering opportunities for students to engage in authentic, hands-on environmental monitoring and data collection. The study will investigate the integration of citizen science projects into the environmental chemistry curriculum and assess their impact on student learning, scientific literacy, and civic engagement. Through a mixed-methods approach, the research aims to provide insights into the potential benefits and challenges of incorporating citizen science into chemistry education, as well as its broader implications for fostering environmental stewardship and community involvement. <br></p>
