This thesis explores the integration of sustainable building practices within the context of urban development, focusing on the challenges, opportunities, and implications for the built environment. The study investigates the current state of sustainable building practices in urban development, analyzes key factors influencing their implementation, and proposes strategies to enhance their adoption and effectiveness. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the research topic, presenting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. Chapter 2 presents a comprehensive literature review that examines existing research, theories, and best practices related to sustainable building practices in urban development. The review covers ten key areas, including sustainable design principles, green building certifications, energy efficiency, sustainable materials, and urban planning strategies.
