Thesis Abstract

This project aims to explore the principles and techniques of passive solar building design for maximizing natural light, heat, and ventilation to reduce energy consumption and enhance thermal comfort. The research will investigate site orientation, building massing, window design, shading devices, thermal mass, and natural ventilation strategies to optimize solar gain, daylighting, and passive cooling. The project will also address the integration of passive solar design principles with active building systems and the potential for widespread application in different climatic regions.
