Thesis Abstract

This project aims to study the impact of plant diversity on ecosystem stability. Biodiversity is known to play a crucial role in maintaining ecosystem functioning and resilience. However, the specific relationship between plant diversity and ecosystem stability is not fully understood. This study will involve analyzing data from different ecosystems with varying levels of plant diversity and assessing their stability using ecological indicators such as species richness, evenness, and ecosystem productivity. The research will also investigate the mechanisms underlying the relationship between plant diversity and stability, including niche complementarity, facilitation, and trophic interactions. The findings will contribute to a better understanding of the importance of plant diversity in promoting ecosystem stability and inform conservation and restoration efforts.
