Thesis Abstract

This research project aims to assess the impact of financial technology (fintech) in transforming the banking industry. Fintech innovations, such as mobile payments, peer-to-peer lending, robo-advisory services, and blockchain technology, have disrupted traditional banking practices and reshaped the financial landscape. The study will examine the key areas of transformation brought about by fintech, including customer experience, operational efficiency, risk management, and regulatory challenges. It will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data analysis and qualitative interviews with industry experts, to understand the drivers and implications of fintech adoption in the banking sector. The research findings will provide valuable insights for banks, policymakers, and researchers interested in understanding the opportunities and challenges associated with fintech integration in the banking industry.
