This thesis project delves into the intriguing intersection of technology and traditional art within the realm of contemporary design. In a rapidly evolving digital age, the fusion of traditional art techniques and modern technological tools presents a dynamic landscape for creative exploration. The primary objective of this study is to investigate how these seemingly disparate elements can harmoniously coexist and inspire innovative design solutions. The research methodology employed in this project encompasses a comprehensive literature review, qualitative interviews with renowned artists and designers, as well as practical experimentation with various artistic mediums and digital technologies. Through a multi-faceted approach, this study aims to shed light on the potential synergies between traditional artistry and cutting-edge technological advancements in the context of contemporary design practices. Chapter One sets the foundation for this study, providing an introduction to the topic, background information, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. Chapter Two offers an in-depth literature review comprising ten key elements that explore the historical evolution of art and technology, the impact of digital tools on artistic expression, and the integration of traditional and digital art forms in contemporary design. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology, detailing the approach, research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, data analysis procedures, ethical considerations, and limitations of the study.
