As cities continue to expand, there is a growing need to explore sustainable design strategies that can address the challenges of urban housing developments. This thesis aims to investigate and analyze various sustainable design approaches that can be implemented in urban housing projects to promote environmental, social, and economic sustainability. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the research topic, presenting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. The chapter sets the foundation for the research by highlighting the importance of sustainable design in addressing the housing needs of urban populations. Chapter 2 presents a comprehensive literature review that examines existing sustainable design strategies in urban housing developments.
