This thesis investigates the application of sustainable design principles in urban housing developments to address the pressing environmental challenges faced by rapidly growing urban areas. The study focuses on analyzing the current practices, identifying challenges, and proposing recommendations for enhancing sustainable design principles in urban housing developments. The introductory chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the research topic, outlining the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, and the structure of the thesis. It also defines key terms relevant to sustainable design and urban housing developments.
