The global trend towards urbanization poses significant challenges for the design and development of sustainable urban housing. This thesis investigates sustainable design strategies for urban housing developments to address environmental, social, and economic concerns. The study aims to explore innovative approaches that can enhance the sustainability of urban housing projects while meeting the needs of diverse populations. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research, outlining the background, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. The chapter sets the foundation for the study by highlighting the importance of sustainable design in urban housing developments. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review that examines existing theories, practices, and case studies related to sustainable design strategies for urban housing. The review covers ten key areas, including sustainable architecture principles, urban planning strategies, green building technologies, and community engagement approaches. Chapter Three details the research methodology employed in this study, including the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, and data analysis procedures.
