Abstract
This thesis explores sustainable design strategies for urban housing developments with the aim of addressing the pressing need for environmentally conscious and socially responsible architecture in rapidly growing urban areas. The research investigates the challenges and opportunities associated with sustainable design in the context of urban housing developments, focusing on strategies that promote energy efficiency, resource conservation, and community well-being. The study begins with an overview of the current state of urban housing developments and the increasing importance of sustainable design practices in addressing environmental and social issues. It examines the background of sustainable design principles and the evolution of sustainability in architecture, highlighting the significance of integrating these principles into urban housing projects. A comprehensive literature review is conducted to analyze existing research and best practices in sustainable design for urban housing developments.
