Abstract
The integration of sustainable design principles in urban housing development has become a critical consideration in addressing the challenges of rapid urbanization and environmental degradation. This thesis explores the importance of incorporating sustainable design principles into urban housing development to promote environmental sustainability, social equity, and economic viability. The study begins with a comprehensive introduction that highlights the significance of sustainable design principles in addressing the current challenges faced by urban housing development. The background of the study provides a detailed overview of the evolution of sustainable design concepts and their relevance to urban housing development. The problem statement identifies the gaps and issues in current urban housing practices that necessitate the integration of sustainable design principles. The objectives of the study are to analyze the impact of sustainable design principles on urban housing development, identify key challenges and opportunities in implementing sustainable design, and propose strategies for integrating sustainable design principles into urban housing projects. The limitations of the study are also outlined to provide a clear understanding of the scope and boundaries of the research.
