Thesis Abstract

This research project aims to investigate the impact of archaeological tourism on the conservation of ancient fortifications. Fortifications are architectural structures built for defensive purposes, often representing significant historical and cultural heritage. The project will examine how the presence of tourists in these sites affects their preservation and conservation. It will explore the potential benefits and challenges associated with archaeological tourism, including the role of visitor management, interpretation, and sustainable practices. The findings of this study will contribute to the development of strategies for balancing tourism and conservation in ancient fortifications.
