Thesis Abstract

This research project aims to analyze the role of archaeology in promoting responsible tourism. Responsible tourism focuses on minimizing negative impacts, maximizing positive contributions, and promoting sustainable practices. Archaeological sites are often fragile and vulnerable to damage caused by tourism activities. The project will investigate how archaeology can contribute to responsible tourism through case studies and best practices from different regions. The research will involve a combination of literature review, site assessments, and interviews with stakeholders involved in archaeological tourism and responsible tourism practices. The findings will provide insights into the potential of archaeology as a catalyst for responsible tourism development.
