The poultry industry plays a crucial role in providing a sustainable source of high-quality protein for human consumption. However, challenges such as diseases and suboptimal growth performance in broiler chickens continue to impact the industry. Probiotics have emerged as a potential solution to improve gut health and overall performance in broiler chickens. This study aimed to investigate the effects of probiotics on gut health in broiler chickens through a comprehensive analysis of relevant literature and empirical research. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, outlining the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. The chapter sets the stage for understanding the importance of probiotics in enhancing gut health in broiler chickens. Chapter Two presents a detailed literature review focusing on ten key aspects related to probiotics and gut health in broiler chickens. The review synthesizes existing knowledge on the mechanisms of action of probiotics, their effects on gut microbiota composition, immune modulation, nutrient absorption, and growth performance in broiler chickens. Additionally, it explores the potential challenges and opportunities associated with probiotic supplementation in poultry production. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology employed in this study, detailing the research design, sampling techniques, data collection methods, probiotic intervention protocols, and analytical approaches. The chapter describes how the study was conducted to investigate the effects of probiotics on gut health parameters in broiler chickens. Chapter Four presents a comprehensive discussion of the findings derived from the empirical research.
