Abstract
The poultry industry plays a crucial role in meeting the growing demand for high-quality protein sources. In this context, the growth performance of broiler chickens is of paramount importance as it directly influences the efficiency and profitability of poultry production. The present study aimed to investigate the effects of different feed supplements on the growth performance of broiler chickens. The research was conducted using a randomized controlled trial design, with four treatment groups receiving different feed supplements, including probiotics, prebiotics, organic acids, and a control group receiving a standard diet. A total of 200 broiler chickens were divided equally among the treatment groups and monitored over a 6-week period. The results of the study revealed significant differences in the growth performance parameters among the treatment groups. Broiler chickens receiving probiotics and prebiotics showed improved growth rates, feed conversion ratios, and overall performance compared to those in the control group. However, chickens supplemented with organic acids exhibited mixed results, with some parameters showing improvement while others remained similar to the control group. The findings suggest that the inclusion of probiotics and prebiotics in the diet of broiler chickens can positively impact their growth performance. These supplements may enhance nutrient utilization, promote gut health, and modulate the immune response, leading to improved growth rates and feed efficiency. On the other hand, the effects of organic acids appear to be more nuanced and may require further optimization to maximize their benefits on broiler growth. In conclusion, the study highlights the importance of feed supplements in optimizing the growth performance of broiler chickens. By understanding the specific effects of different supplements on various growth parameters, poultry producers can make informed decisions to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of their operations. Further research is warranted to explore the underlying mechanisms of action and optimize the use of feed supplements for maximizing the growth potential of broiler chickens in commercial settings.
