Abstract
The poultry industry plays a significant role in meeting the growing demand for animal protein worldwide. In this context, enhancing the growth performance and overall health of broiler chickens has become a key focus for producers. This study investigates the impact of dietary supplements on the growth performance of broiler chickens, with a specific emphasis on assessing the effectiveness of various supplements in improving feed efficiency, weight gain, and overall health outcomes. The research methodology involved a comprehensive literature review to establish the current understanding of dietary supplementation in poultry production, followed by an experimental study that evaluated the performance of broiler chickens fed different types of supplements. The literature review revealed a wide range of dietary supplements commonly used in poultry production, including vitamins, minerals, probiotics, prebiotics, and herbal extracts. These supplements are known to influence various physiological processes in broiler chickens, such as nutrient absorption, immune function, and gut health. However, the effectiveness of these supplements can vary depending on factors such as dosage, formulation, and the specific requirements of the chickens at different growth stages. In the experimental study, a total of 200 broiler chickens were divided into four groups and fed different dietary supplements, including a control group receiving a standard diet without supplementation. The growth performance of the chickens was monitored over a 6-week period, focusing on parameters such as feed intake, body weight gain, feed conversion ratio, and mortality rates. Additionally, blood samples were collected to assess the impact of supplementation on blood parameters related to health and nutrient metabolism. The results of the study indicated that certain dietary supplements had a significant impact on the growth performance of broiler chickens. Specifically, supplements containing a combination of vitamins, minerals, and probiotics were found to improve feed efficiency, increase weight gain, and enhance overall health indicators compared to the control group. These findings suggest that strategic supplementation can be an effective strategy for optimizing the growth performance and health of broiler chickens in commercial poultry production. In conclusion, this study highlights the importance of dietary supplements in enhancing the growth performance of broiler chickens. By providing essential nutrients and promoting gut health, supplements can contribute to improved feed efficiency and weight gain, ultimately leading to better economic returns for poultry producers. Further research is warranted to explore the optimal combinations and dosages of supplements for different growth stages and environmental conditions, with the aim of maximizing the productivity and sustainability of broiler chicken production.
