Abstract
The poultry industry plays a crucial role in meeting the global demand for high-quality protein sources. Maintaining optimal gut health in poultry is essential for maximizing performance and overall productivity. Probiotics have gained attention as a potential solution to enhance gut health and performance in poultry production. This thesis aims to investigate the effects of probiotics on gut health and performance in poultry production. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, highlighting the background of the study, the problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definitions of key terms. The literature review in Chapter Two explores ten key studies related to probiotics, gut health, and performance in poultry production. The research methodology in Chapter Three outlines the detailed procedures, including sample selection, data collection methods, experimental design, and statistical analysis. Chapter Four presents a comprehensive discussion of the findings, analyzing the impact of probiotics on gut health parameters, such as intestinal microbiota composition, gut morphology, and immune response in poultry. Additionally, the chapter evaluates the effects of probiotics on performance indicators, including growth rate, feed conversion ratio, and mortality rate. The results are discussed in relation to existing literature, highlighting the potential benefits and limitations of probiotic supplementation in poultry production. In conclusion, Chapter Five summarizes the key findings of the study and discusses the implications for the poultry industry.
