Thesis Abstract

This project aims to explore the concept of forest landscape restoration (FLR) as a strategy to enhance ecosystem resilience. Forests play a crucial role in maintaining biodiversity, regulating climate, and providing various ecosystem services. However, due to deforestation, degradation, and other anthropogenic activities, many forest landscapes have become fragmented and degraded, leading to a loss of ecological resilience. Forest landscape restoration seeks to address these challenges by restoring the ecological integrity and functionality of forest landscapes. This project will examine the principles, approaches, and outcomes of FLR initiatives, as well as the potential benefits for enhancing ecosystem resilience. The findings will contribute to the understanding of FLR as a tool for sustainable forest management and conservation.
