In recent years, the integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in agricultural extension services has gained significant attention due to its potential to improve outreach, communication, and knowledge dissemination in rural communities. This thesis explores the utilization of ICT to enhance agricultural extension services in rural communities, focusing on how technology can bridge the gap between extension agents and farmers, ultimately leading to increased agricultural productivity and sustainable practices. The study begins with an overview of the background of agricultural extension services and the importance of adopting ICT tools in improving service delivery. It identifies the challenges faced by rural communities in accessing extension services and highlights the need for innovative solutions to address these issues. The research problem is framed around the limited reach and effectiveness of traditional extension methods in reaching and engaging rural farmers, leading to lower adoption rates of modern agricultural practices. The objectives of this study include evaluating the impact of ICT tools on agricultural extension services, assessing the challenges and limitations of implementing these technologies in rural areas, and proposing strategies to enhance the integration of ICT in extension programs. The scope of the study focuses on rural communities in a specific geographic area, examining the current extension services available and the potential for incorporating ICT solutions. A comprehensive literature review is conducted to explore existing research on the use of ICT in agricultural extension services, highlighting successful case studies, best practices, and key challenges.
