Abstract
This thesis investigates the utilization of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for enhancing agricultural extension services in rural communities. The study addresses the challenges faced by traditional agricultural extension systems and explores the potential of ICTs to bridge the gap between farmers and extension agents. The research methodology employed a mixed-methods approach, incorporating surveys, interviews, and case studies to gather data from farmers, extension workers, and relevant stakeholders. The findings reveal that ICTs have the capacity to revolutionize agricultural extension services by providing timely information, facilitating knowledge sharing, and enabling remote communication. However, the study also identifies various barriers to the effective adoption of ICTs in rural agricultural communities, including limited access to technology, inadequate infrastructure, and low digital literacy levels. The discussion of findings delves into the implications of these challenges and proposes strategies to overcome them, such as tailored training programs, improved connectivity, and the development of user-friendly ICT tools.
