Abstract
This thesis investigates the impact of mobile technology on agricultural extension services in rural communities. The study focuses on understanding how the use of mobile technology can enhance the delivery of agricultural extension services, improve communication between farmers and extension agents, and ultimately contribute to agricultural development in rural areas. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys with qualitative interviews to gather data from farmers, extension agents, and other stakeholders involved in agricultural extension services. The findings reveal the various ways in which mobile technology is being utilized in agricultural extension, the challenges faced in its implementation, and the overall impact on agricultural productivity and farmer livelihoods. The study also explores the potential for scaling up mobile technology interventions in agricultural extension services and provides recommendations for policymakers, extension agencies, and technology providers on how to leverage mobile technology effectively for the benefit of rural communities.
