Abstract
This study investigates the utilization of mobile technology to enhance agricultural extension services in rural communities. The adoption of mobile technology has the potential to revolutionize the way agricultural information is disseminated, accessed, and utilized by farmers in remote areas. The objective of this research is to assess the effectiveness of mobile technology in improving agricultural extension services and ultimately enhancing agricultural productivity in rural communities. Chapter One provides an introduction to the study, presenting the background, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of terms. Chapter Two comprises a literature review that explores existing research on mobile technology in agricultural extension services, including its benefits, challenges, and best practices. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology, including research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, data analysis procedures, ethical considerations, and limitations of the study. The chapter also discusses the theoretical framework guiding the research and justifies the chosen methodology. Chapter Four presents a detailed discussion of the findings, analyzing the data collected through surveys, interviews, and observations. The chapter examines the impact of mobile technology on agricultural extension services, the challenges faced in implementation, and the perspectives of stakeholders involved in the process. Finally, Chapter Five offers a conclusion and summary of the thesis, emphasizing the key findings, implications for practice, and recommendations for future research. The study contributes to the growing body of knowledge on the role of mobile technology in agricultural extension services and provides insights into how technology can be effectively leveraged to support and empower farmers in rural communities.
