Abstract
This thesis investigates the utilization of mobile technology to enhance agricultural extension services in rural communities. The study focuses on exploring how the integration of mobile technology can improve the dissemination of agricultural information, knowledge sharing, and access to extension services among farmers in remote areas. The research methodology employed a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather data from farmers, agricultural extension workers, and technology experts. The findings reveal the potential benefits of mobile technology in enhancing agricultural extension services, including increased efficiency, reach, and effectiveness in delivering vital information and services to farmers. However, challenges such as limited internet connectivity, digital literacy, and access to smartphones were identified as barriers to the successful implementation of mobile technology in rural areas. The study recommends strategies to overcome these challenges and maximize the potential of mobile technology in agricultural extension services, including infrastructure development, capacity building, and partnerships between stakeholders. Overall, this research contributes to the growing body of knowledge on the role of mobile technology in advancing agricultural extension services and underscores the importance of leveraging technology to empower rural communities and promote sustainable agriculture practices.
