Abstract
This thesis investigates the effectiveness of mobile technologies in enhancing agricultural extension services. The rapid advancement of mobile technologies has provided new opportunities to improve communication, knowledge dissemination, and support systems for farmers in the agriculture sector. However, there is a need to assess the actual impact and effectiveness of these technologies in enhancing agricultural extension services. This study aims to fill this gap by evaluating the benefits, challenges, and overall effectiveness of using mobile technologies in agricultural extension services. The research methodology employed in this study includes a comprehensive literature review to understand the existing knowledge and identify gaps in the current literature. A mixed-method approach will be utilized, combining qualitative and quantitative data collection methods to gather insights from both agricultural extension professionals and farmers who have used mobile technologies in their agricultural practices. Data will be collected through surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions to capture a holistic view of the subject matter. Chapter 4 of the thesis will present a detailed discussion of the findings, analyzing the data collected and evaluating the effectiveness of mobile technologies in agricultural extension services. The discussion will cover the benefits experienced by farmers, challenges faced in adopting mobile technologies, and the overall impact on agricultural productivity and knowledge dissemination. The chapter will also explore the implications of the findings and provide recommendations for improving the use of mobile technologies in agricultural extension services. In conclusion, this study contributes to the existing literature on agricultural extension services by providing empirical evidence on the effectiveness of mobile technologies in enhancing communication, knowledge sharing, and support systems for farmers. The findings of this study will have implications for policymakers, agricultural extension professionals, and technology developers in improving the design and implementation of mobile technologies for agricultural extension services. Overall, this research aims to advance the understanding of how mobile technologies can be leveraged to enhance agricultural extension services and contribute to sustainable agricultural development.
