Abstract
This thesis explores the utilization of mobile technology to enhance agricultural extension services in rural communities. The study aims to address the challenges faced by farmers in accessing timely and relevant agricultural information by leveraging the widespread use of mobile devices. The research investigates the potential of mobile technology to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of agricultural extension services, ultimately leading to increased agricultural productivity and livelihood improvement in rural areas. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the study, including the background of the research, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. The background highlights the importance of agricultural extension services in rural development and the role of mobile technology in bridging information gaps. The problem statement identifies the challenges faced by rural farmers in accessing agricultural information, while the objectives outline the goals of the study. The limitations and scope of the research are also discussed, along with the significance of the study and an overview of the thesis structure. Chapter 2 presents a comprehensive literature review on mobile technology and agricultural extension services.
