Thesis Abstract

Abstract
This thesis explores the utilization of mobile technology to enhance agricultural extension services. The importance of agricultural extension services in improving agricultural productivity, sustainability, and livelihoods cannot be overstated. However, traditional extension methods often face challenges such as limited reach, high costs, and lack of timely information dissemination. Mobile technology presents a promising solution to address these challenges and enhance the effectiveness of agricultural extension services. The study begins with an examination of the current state of agricultural extension services and the role of mobile technology in transforming these services. Through a comprehensive literature review, the thesis identifies key factors influencing the adoption and effectiveness of mobile technology in agricultural extension. Additionally, the study delves into the potential benefits and limitations associated with the use of mobile technology in this context. Methodologically, the thesis employs a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative research methods to investigate the impact of mobile technology on agricultural extension services. The research methodology includes data collection through surveys, interviews, and case studies to gather insights from extension agents, farmers, and other stakeholders in the agricultural sector. The findings of the study reveal that the utilization of mobile technology has the potential to significantly enhance agricultural extension services by improving the dissemination of information, facilitating communication between extension agents and farmers, and promoting knowledge sharing and capacity building.
