Abstract
Climate change is a pressing global issue that has significant implications for agricultural productivity and farmer income. This study aims to assess the economic impact of climate change on crop yields and farmer income in a selected region. The research focuses on understanding how changes in temperature and precipitation patterns influence crop production and, consequently, the financial well-being of farmers. By analyzing data from the past decade and conducting field surveys, this study evaluates the relationship between climate change indicators and crop yields, as well as the resulting effects on farmer income. The thesis begins with an introduction that outlines the background and significance of the study, followed by a comprehensive literature review that synthesizes existing research on the topic. The research methodology section details the data collection methods, sampling techniques, and analytical tools used to investigate the economic impact of climate change on crop yields and farmer income. Findings from the study are presented in chapter four, providing a detailed discussion of the relationships observed between climate change variables, crop yields, and farmer income. The results of this study highlight the adverse effects of climate change on agricultural productivity and farmer livelihoods in the selected region. Changes in temperature and precipitation patterns have been found to have a significant impact on crop yields, leading to reduced agricultural output and income for farmers. The study also identifies specific adaptation strategies that can help mitigate the negative effects of climate change on crop yields and farmer income, such as implementing sustainable agricultural practices and investing in climate-resilient crops.
