Figures and Falsehood Syndrome in Nigerian Society The issue of Figures and Falsehood Syndrome in Nigerian society is a complex and pervasive phenomenon that has significant implications for governance, socio-economic development, and public trust. This research project aims to explore the root causes, manifestations, and consequences of this syndrome within the Nigerian context. Through a comprehensive literature review and empirical analysis, this study examines the various factors that contribute to the prevalence of misleading figures and false information in Nigeria. These factors include political manipulation, corruption, lack of data transparency, and weak accountability mechanisms. By uncovering these underlying causes, the research seeks to provide insights into why Figures and Falsehood Syndrome persists in Nigerian society. Furthermore, this project investigates the different ways in which misleading figures and false information are disseminated and perpetuated in Nigerian society. From official government reports to social media platforms, misinformation can take various forms and reach a wide audience, shaping public perceptions and influencing decision-making processes. By identifying these channels of dissemination, the study aims to raise awareness about the dangers of Figures and Falsehood Syndrome and its impact on public discourse. In addition, this research project explores the consequences of Figures and Falsehood Syndrome on governance, public policy, and societal well-being in Nigeria. Misleading figures can lead to misguided policies, resource misallocation, and a loss of public trust in institutions. By examining these effects, the study seeks to highlight the urgent need for data accuracy, transparency, and accountability in order to foster a more informed and responsible society.
